    Protege AWD Reliable GTX/GTR conversion?

If I put A gtx awd transmission in a pro awd which can be done because the 4wd pro has the same rear differential as the gtx/gtr.
and the motor can It be a reliable transportation yet you can take it out to the race track and tear up the competion or what ?
I fig its awd and turbo but concerned about the reliability issues of this conversion.

The strength of the U.S. AWD transmissions is not great. Getting your hands on a GTX drivetrain would probably work pretty nicely, as long as you are not terribly hard on it, and don't up the boost a bunch.

They only problem people talk in the european board is that the transfert case that's in the awd tranny doesn't support to much drag racing, for the hp increase i don't know

        I don't understand what you're asking.

He wants to know if the GTX drivetrain swapped into a normal AWD car would be reliable....

As atila said, not really for drag launches.

Thank you. But I do not see how that would be obvious to somebody who doesn't know. I guess they should read the FAQ.

BUT to answer his question truely, yes the car will be reliable once the GTX tranny is in... the rear end is different on the GTX but the US one will still work... GTX has LSD, US one doesn't
I guess you didn't read either. But maybe I should have been more specific. Don't do drag launches.

Then why would you swap in an AWD tranny? It'll slow you down...

                        umm, no, it doesn't.

AWD without expensive diffs is basically FWD without traction issues but a lot more weight and drivetrain losses.

Not to mention that you'll be pulling up to the gas pumps more often.
