    G Series FWD LSD Diff

    Just Snapped a Picture of my Infini LSD DIff and Gearset. I'm just waiting on some PAR Straight cut 3rd Gears to wack on. Should hold together good.



    And this is my Mates Mazdaspeed Clutch Style Racing LSD (Old Version). It's as tough as nails......looks like it belongs in a tank.

    1987 Ford Laser TX3 4WD with BPT FWD LSD
    GT2876R, Turbosmart Ultragate, Weisco Forged Pistons, GTR Conrods, Race Flowed Head, HPC Tube Manifold, GTR Plenum, 550cc RX7 Injectors, Custom Fuel Rail, Infini LSD Diff, Straight Cut PAR 3rd Gear, FMIC, 4" Intake etc.
    320HP at 24psi Pump Fuel & 12.5 @ 122mph Street Tyres

        whats the benifit of straight cutting 3rd only? as opposed to any of the other gears or all of them?

          Well the LSD is strong as and does not break in a hurry. From experience the next thing to blow is 3rd Gear. Now 1st and 2nd gear are quite strong and I've never blown this.

          So next step from LSD is to fit the strong 3rd gear......hopefully nothign more will blow. And the gears are lotsa $$$$ hence only one gear.

            Material is a Billet Alloy EN36A which has been Vacuum arc re-meltelted and cryo treated at -200 degrees C after manufacture. Material process also includes case hardening to 30thou and case depth core refine to 58-59 rockwell c.

            BS970 code: EN36A
            equivalent AISI: X3312H <- (have never heard of it before?)
            composition
            .1%C 3.5%Ni
            .8%Cr
            Suitable for highly stressed gears and shafts. Also used for die rings and moulding rings.

                I've blown through a few third gears. Really sucks going from second to fourth.
                Too bad I have AWD and you don't!

                  $500 to $700 for the 3 gear set.

                  Lets hope the box now can take a thrashing. 3rd gear will take a beating out on the track (circuit)
