Do you have info about the fuel maps? because if the difference is the rpm's I have in my car the BP09 and the rev limiter is at 7500rpm. so let me know thanks

So the only reason it makes more power is because it revs 500 more rpms? I would think 7k is way out of effiecient range anyway.

Yeah, I worded that wrong. It has been debated before, but I think the only differance is the rev limiter. I think on some of the aussie boards they did some testing and it did yeild lower power, but nothing to really be noticed. As far as being out of the powerband, that may be true, but if you have a big enough turbo or the vj-20 at full boost, it might make a differance. This has been talked about before.

the maps are different to account for the different fuel types. I have tried both ECUs and from personal experience the BP26 pulled marginally better.

The Euro BPT's made less power? Are you guys sure? First I've EVER heard of this....

now, I know the ecu's in the Ozzie Ford Laser TX3's were tuned for 170hp as opposed to 180hp for the JDM (Mazda) BPT's. Soprry, I don't know a p/n on the TX3 ecu but the guys at www.fordlaser.com or www.amazd.co.nz/forum might know.

aussie ecu is the BP58. its rated at 117 kW (157 hp), because it was tuned to 95 RON fuel instead of 100 RON fuel like the BP26. they just didnt have the higher octane fuel available in australia at the time, thats the reason for the difference. to get a ball-park conversion, subtract 4 or 5 points from the RON number to get the R/M ((ron+mon)/2) number used in the US.

                          100 RON = ~94-95 (r+m)/2
                          95 RON = ~90-91 (r+m)/2
