The one that came in the car. The stock 1.8. It currently has 126k+ miles on it. Improved Touring rules allows minor mods (the GCR, general competition rules, is available on www.scca.com) only.
One day I'll get to do those mods.

      FYI, next races:
Sept 8 - 10 at NHIS (I have passes for this event)
Sept 23 - 24 at Watkins Glen NY.

yeah, I road race/autocross my Mx3. Got first place in class at the PIR Rose Cup this year. I usually come in the top 3 in STS. Although my car is lacking suspension at the moment. I've got the stocker goodies back on it just so I can drive it around.

We do not mock those who don't know about autocross (or Solo II as it's officially called by most), we educate them.

I started autocrossing with a totally stock car. No mods, nothing special, street tires (I still autocross my SVTf on street tires). I did a little thing on my web site, http://www.wizardracing.net, that has advice/info on going to an autocross for the 1st time.
You only need the following to start:
              1) a car that'll pass tech
              2) a helmet, motorcycle or better (some clubs have loaners)
              3) entry fee
              4) the want to learn and have fun

Autocrossing since 2001, HPDE's since 2002 or so.

                1995 Ford Escort Wagon
                1992 Ford Escort GT
                1985 Volvo 744tic

Tracks: Gingerman, Blackhawk Farms, Autobahn Country Club, USAIR

pic from the autobahn this last june:

pic from 2004 sometime, I think at Lake Geneva Kennel Club (dog track) for an autoX

me driving my buddy's '95 escort when my motor was busted:

first ever autocross, with $32 wal-mart special tires, lol!

turn 11 at Gingerman, in the rain, my first time at the track. .wmv file, 6.9MB right-click/download

a lap or two at USAIR, a kart track in Shawano, WI, playing with a guy in an NSX. .avi file (divx) 23.6MB right-click/download

that's all I really have for now, but I'm working on getting some good footage from all the tracks I've been on.

Details! Where is the track (State, town, rte #), what kind (oval [dirt or paved], 1/4, road)?

You'll have to keep us informed as to how you finish.
How's the car? Done or in progress?
