    GB - Turbo Adapter Plates

Alot of you guys dont want to spend $500+ for a turbo manifold. My machine shop and I have devised the idea of an adapter plate to utilize the stock BP exhaust manifold as the turbo manifold and allow you to mate a turbocharger to that.

The plates would cost roughly $79 and we'd develop it to fit what the majority wants to go with - subaru turbo, t3/t4, t28 style, etc etc. If there is a car near my machinest who is willing to be a donor/test fit car, we can make downpipes as well.

If there is interest in this, let me know and we can start right away

Yeah, and for $60 shipped too. Definately a good product you have Mike. Just FYI change from 25mm allen bolts to 15mm so that they don't hit the stock manifold, because I had to buy 4 of the shorter bolts to use your flange. Good work nonetheless.

if this is going to bolt on to the bottom of a stock e-manny the turbo will probably sit
too low(meaning the oil return won't drain) white95 made a adapterplate for a gtx manny to t3 style plate.
        thanks ryan

Now this is an interesting idea. What will happen with the oil returns though if the turbo is at/lower than the oil pan?

this kind of would have to be a plate for the GTX manifold. the stock bp manifold sits too low... i kinda thought you meant an adapter for the GTX manifold in the first place

and 67cutlass... if the turbo sits too low, the oil will not drain back right, and the pressue will build within the cartridge and blow out the seals inside the turbo. lots of fun smoke... not too good for the turbo

Yeah, that's what I assumed he meant in the initial post too.

You could route the exhuast up to the tp of the tranny, mount a turbo, and... oh wait that would suck.
When I get done with my build, I will be buying one of your turbo manny's for it so don't stop making them!

So i'm just curious. I assume it'd fit a aftermarket header, etc. as long as the stock downpipe/cat mounts to it? Also another thing on my mind. The stock cast manifold is obviously beefy and what not but what about aftermarket headers? I'm wondering if the weight of the turbo, etc. would make it go poop!

depends on the quality of the metal & welds, how thick & what if any bracig is used.
