you could get a 1.8l gtx exhaust manifold, and slot the holes out (i think on the turbo?) and you can get the XR2 turbo to half assed fit the manifold, and therefore work on the 1.8. but, its too small for the motor so your powerband will drop off very early

would the XR2 engine bolt up to the EGT tranny?

Thats the 1.6 DOHC B6 turbo motor, right? if so, yes it'll bolt in to your EGTs tranny, but you have to use a 1.6 DOHC B6 clutch and flywheel. Also you might be able to use your exsisting wiring harness, just not have VICS.

Not much gains off it though, your EGT is *127hp* and the B6T is *132hp*. Mind you, exhaust, intake, FMIC and up the boost, you could probably get 170-180whp out of it.

theres no way i could slot the bolt holes on the exhaust mani from the XR2 to work on the EGT block?

The exhaust manifold bolts to the head.

I'm not trying to be rude, but why not just get a turbo/manifold that was made for your engine? You'd be saving yourself so much work and hardship, and it might not work out in the end or if it does, it might be half-assed.

1.6 and 1.8 engines have different port spacing on the center two cylinders.

If it doesn't work out for you you could always sell me the Turbo and Exhaust Mani as I am about to drop the 1.6L DOHC into my 323!

its kind of a newbie question to ask if you can slot your manifold like that. first off, to do that right, you'd have to take it to a machine shop, which would probably cost as much if not more than getting a new gtx manifold off corksport for $100 and change.
