    Brake Fluid

Just wondering what people are using for brake fluid. This will be going in my 323. The 323 will have RX-7 front calipers with stock pads, and c/d front rotors. SS lines. For the rear, new calipers, c/d rotors, aggressive pads, and SS lines. Also a 929 MC.

    Thanks!

    JACK.

Cool, thanks Any other ideas guys? I just use Mazda performance brake fluid. I think i'll want something with a really high boiling point since i'll be auto-xing the car.

If you auto-x'ed or just did some serious constant braking you would as regular cheap fluid would go ape **** and you would fade much earlier!

Brake fade FTL! So besides Jo's brake fluid suggestion, what else is good? I might just go to my local shop and get the best stuff they have when the time comes.

Go with Motul DOT 4 you can't go wrong that's what I have in the 323, I have Delphi 5.1 in the Subaru, The Subaru has 4 pot calipers on the front with the WRX rotors, the rotors are 12" diameter just as big almost as the rims on the 323 LOL I got them both at KVR performance.
              The brake fluid that is.

              Pat.

Um, autox isn't all that hard on brakefluid. You're out there crushing cones for what, 1 min, usually less per run? Hardcore autox'ers downsize the **** outta thier brakes to save on unsprung weight. Trackdays, rally, roadrace, yeah. Get big brakes, race pads (that don't work for **** till you get lots of heat in them) and hightemp fluid. Autox, all you really want are pads that bite like hell even when cold. Show me an autocross car with brakefade issues and I'll either show you someone running '60's American iron, or someone who rides the goddamn brakes all the way round the parking lot.

Whoa, holy resurrected thread batman...Didn't mean to step on any toes or come across as a stuporstar, I guess I should used a smiley or somethin'. It's just if you're autoxing, spend the money on the right pads and don't spend the what, 90 bucks on that new castrol stuff? My old Datsun 510 had bone stock brakes.. drums in back and all. Can't even remember what kind of pads were in it, prolly pep boy specials. I used to fade those things all the time during stupid street driving but never once did they fade at an autocross.
So I should mention what fluid I run in case anyone cares.. ATE super blue in both cars. It seems to do the job and tells you by the color change when it's time to replace it.

I agree with the autocross thing. I don't remember or care what fluid I have. I think it might be ford racing or something though.

I just use the $4.99 big quarts of the Synthetic Castrol or whatever is in the big yellow bottle. Never boiled, but I use a vacuum brake bleeder and cycle a full quart through all the corners when I change fluid.

Anything serious gets NEO Synthetic racing 610, I just snag freshly opened cans from the race shop at work.

I ordered ATE superblue DOT4 fluid. I've yet to put it in because I'm waiting on my SS lines. I want to know how you get the RX-7 calipers on. I have a set of T2 calipers and a set of FD calipers and havent really mesased with putting them on or trying
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
