yeah thats what i have heard, a bit stronger and larger axles and what not... ultimately i ran a year and a half + driving the piss out of my car fairly regularly and only went through 1 tranny and it was 2 weeks after i installed the turbo (it was already bad before the turbo, the turbo was just a nail in the coffin). they stay together if your not really stupid.. i spent a couple nights at the track on them too... not only that when i ran slicks it wasnt my tranny that went, it was my axle.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
just make sure you have a few kicking around, like sarge said... budget one in every year... that way if you don't need it, you still have it for later. you know ur doing good if you have 4 or 5 laying around your house at any given time
