    Lost a piece of exhaust

Last night a piece of my exhaust finally broke off and i'm not sure what part exactly it is... i think it might be the pre-silencer... its a metal canister basically... about 2 foot long maybe? .... goes near the middle of the car... am i right in asuming its the pre-silencer? and is this an expensiver repair? also can i go a week or two without it?

    Whatcha talkin about Willis?

Are talking about pipe #8 on the chart?
P.S. One of them is for CA emissions cars.

Well, if its 9, then you need to replace that whole pipe. It could cost you about $200 to do it. I replaced mine this summer, because it just rusted throgh right at the weld point where 8 and 9 come together. It was f*cking LOUD. So I went to the shop I used to work at, where I get 50% off parts, and I did it myself too, so no labor charged, and it cost me just over $100.

what about just welding a straight pipe where 9 was?
