Hey Derrick , how are you doing. This is Bruce from New York with the Red 2nd gen protege.
I am in need of a Downpipe for my car. To fit on the vj20 turbo that I have.
Here is a picture of the turbo that I have http://protosportracing.com/motor_sw...s/DSC00007.JPG .
I need a pipe to connect from there to the cat connection. I know that you did Patricks GTX 2nd gen. I was wondering if you could make one of these for me. Every where I go. Noone wants to make it or they want to do a half-ass job with it.

If you could just let me know if you could do this, and how much it will cost me. I am trying to collect everything that I need to get the turbo running, but this is my biggest hold up right now.

    Thanks
I would call but I work some strange hours and can't really use my phone. I may have to try and reach out to you on like a saturday if your open.
    Bruce

We are making a production piece that will be stainless steel. When they are ready I will let you know. It shouldn't be too much longer till we post them on the website.

    Thanks
    Derrick

bruce that down pipe is so easy to make. u need to make flange and weld a 90 deg. bend to it. flange is simple .its square and u need to drill 4 holes for bolts and one fro exaust, the exaust hole on mine down pipe i did with hole saw from home depot.down pipe will cost u around 60$ that includes flex.

CS is replacing that entire elbow with a new larger, more flowing unit. They already sell the flange for the bottem of DP pictured above. I was lucky enough to get some exhuast with my cut but running 3" is pointless unless its all the way back and will be waiting for CS to make this part. Have been for awhile. If not, someone local will for a PRICE...grrr. ;p Hurry CS, another buyer.

i dont think there is any reason to replace the elbow i would just make down pipe. 2.5 inch is good that vj 20 turbo dont need biger exaust.just mine point of view.no ofense to any one but if somone want s to built a fast car the look for most cheapest way to put it together . mine piont is that down piep will cost probly around 300$.maiking a costum down pipe 60$ so u have 240$ left that might go toward next upgrade (used nos setup ,good tires, some money towad LSD,or stand alone)

                  downpipe

hey guys,i realize some things are about saving money when it comes to your car.But jerry-rigging make shift downpipes may work for the time being..but whats the gain?
                  1. It will eventually cost money to have it made correctly..if the one you slap together doesn't flow properly, theres a chance of back heating your turbo with back pressure, thus causing it to "slow "down and potential damage.
                  2. boughten and paided for and move on to the next piece of the puzzle, i find guys come to me with all these make shift componets complaining "i should've done it right the first time" or "i did it to get by for now"..."but its ended up costing more in some shape or form."
Yes i agree some companies are out charge a fortune for simple items..while others offer items so cheap because they come from off shore.
What i tell all my customers is do it right the first time, you've invested all your time and money into your ride thus far why go half assed now and tarnish what work you have prided yourself in.
                  Anyways,my opion
                  have a great day.

Ps. we will be releasing turbo kits stage 1 and stage 2 for the 1.5L 1.6L and the 1.8L protege's.Our sucess with the P5 has brought alot of 1st and 2nd gen proteges to our door.

yes you right that u should make thing once and good but i see no piont to replace elbow that comes out of turbo that goes to down pipe.we talking about vj20 and that thing is small turbo before thinking about overheating you turbo. if that was t3t4 then i would say that its ok to spend money.i see you have shpo and its a buisnes and you have to make money and that is ok.
