    Mx3 v6/bp

Hmm I may be getting a v6 MX-3. My question to you is, should I swap it out for a bigger v6 or go BP? Im not sure if Im selling my Protege yet, so I would have everything I needed to do the swap(except the actual BP). But if I was to sell my Protege, should I try and go KL-DE/ZE or shoot for BP Power!?

v6 swap would be easier. like you said, you would need a protege or escort or something to scavenge parts from if you wanted to do a BP swap.

If you read the MX-3.com forums it will tell you that the V6 swap is easier in the V6 cars.

Go V6 and twin turbo it!

basically just read on here about putting a v6 in a protege, and all the parts you need, and consider that you need all the same stuff to go inthe opposite direction

If I had the money Id KL ZE the pro and bpt the mx3...or vice versa. But Im kinda leaning toward v6 mx for the easy factor. Next question is klde or ze? :×

Seriously check out mx-3.com its as easy as this:

MX-3 GS V6- swap in a KLZE or KLDE

Mx-3 RS 4CYL-swap in a BP or BPT

            Thats how we do....

SWEET! I love KL V6s. They sound like pure sex. What might be all done to the car already? Because you can get an easy 180-190whp without going standalone.

Yeah I'm thinking vice versa. It would be like 4x the work to do it that way.

Even better, you found one that's already done.

i'm putting a fully built bp in my mx-3 gs (with AWD GTR system) v6 to i4 isn't as hard as everyone seems to think as the above post can show... and the weight loss on the car is amazing.. I can't believe how much less the bp weighs

The BP isn't much lighter than the KLDE/KLZE engines. The KL series engines are all aluminum heads/block while our BPs have a cast iron block. I think its only 70lbs difference?

If you're getting this thing already ZEd with minor bolt ons, i'd check it over for oil leaks, fix those, then work on LSD...that'll cut a good second off your 1/4
