Sooo, knowone has come up with a thread so i'll just ask these few ?'s:

Can I use my 1.8sohc distributer?
Do I need a BP ECU or can I run it without the VICS until I get one?
Can I use my sohc VAF or do I need a BP or rx7 Vaf to make it work?
O2 sensor placement??? in the pipe or do I have to use the SOHC Mani?

Umm thats about it for now

You need a BP disti if you're B8 disti only has a 3 wire plug. End of story.

        Also you'll need the following for a proper BP swap;

        BP engine (complete)
        BP wiring harness/ecu/vaf
        G-series tranny
        G-series axles
Shiftlinkage is the same i believe
Motor mounts are the same i believe

That's all i can think of right now since i'm 1/2 asleep still.

Feel free to add more here people!

thanx for answering my questions. I was reading a swap tutorial and noticed that the BP does infact have the 4 wire setup. I also answered my ? about the o2 sensor.

So I must get at the bare minimum: bp ecu, bp disty, bp or rx7 VAF
I was planing on using my b8 harness and just adding wires where need be (VICS) but if I need the 4 wire dist plug I suppose I will have to get a harness from a BP as well.

I was going to just use my tranny for now and swap to a g series when I have the cash. The flywheel and everything bolts right up its just a difference in 2 teeth from what I have read (GroHarlem's conversion tutorial on mx-3.com)

thanx again for the help and im sure i'll be gugging you folks again soon

You can modify your B8 harness to run your BP. All you have to do is add extra PINS in the B8 harness plug, one for the extra wire disti and one for VICS, then run them to their proper location.

As for the drivetrain, you can use your B8 tranny/axles. You'll need to bolt in your B8 flywheel and clutch assembly as well.

Also you'd be better off using a BP VAF. Less **** to mess around with.

Are you going to re-pin your B8 harness?

BP09 or BP10 are the most common ones (91-94 egt and 90-94 protege lx). there's also the BPVR which was used in the 95 EGT. any of those should work.
