      Word,

      Gentlemen,
I must post here, this is as juvenile as any **** I've seen since living on the farm as a kid. This sport is for deep pockets and death wishers. And juvenile is not a nasty name! I've done crazy ass **** too, that's why I feel compelled to go here. I should have died, doing simular stunts and did'nt.
No, I never had any extensive injuries, and never hurt anyone else.

My Dad, was killed by a driver in So. Central Kentucky, that fell asleep at the wheel on an open, see for miles road. No charges were filed as he plead to the Sheriff, "It was an accident". Accidents do happen, the unthinkable does happen, and its pure hell while its happening, you are really all alone and no one can help you at the moment, you only wish it to be over soon to quickly end the bone shattering pain you see coming. I would be hard pressed to live through and endure the hell the poor man is living with after that 5:30 pm crash on US 79 in Logan County, Ky.

Gentlemen, for the love of the dearest thing in your heart, rethink this sport of drifting. For all the crazy **** like that I did in my youth and 20s, I broke my pelvis hauling freight and delivering it, at 45 y/old. Doctors agreed it's due to being an overachiever. I may never work again as I could have, as a normal paced working man. This sucks Men. I may always have to park in handicap parking, be close to restrooms, and contend with a partner that is not getting what is deserved physically. I ask that you not hate for this post but take it as only information. I care, and as a retired Kentucky Peace Officer, I've answered codes or calls of dyer need and emergency, laid motorcycles down and climb through firey crashes to victims. As this is becoming harder to for me to finish, I will also say that my closeest male friend could lose his 31 Y/old wife to this sport, the 05 Nissan Sentra is gone, and her life in the picture is hanging, it's critical. It was preventable.

Accidents do happen, often I think about what if I hurt some playing like that.

Drifting can happen at times that is not wanted.

Deadly accidents that happen from a preventable drift gone wrong can be devestating.

Best wishes, live long and safe. Live in Peace.

No, I never had any extensive injuries, and never hurt anyone else.

Significantly more people die from speeding than drifting, plus the vast majority of drifting crashes don't end with serious injuries. Are you confusing this with street racing?

My Dad, was killed by a driver in So. Central Kentucky, that fell asleep at the wheel on an open, see for miles road. No charges were filed as he plead to the Sheriff, "It was an accident".

I'm sorry for your loss, but what the hell does that have to do with drifting that isn't applicable to any other form of driving?

Accidents do happen, the unthinkable does happen, and its pure hell while its happening, you are really all alone and no one can help you at the moment, you only wish it to be over soon to quickly end the bone shattering pain you see coming. Gentlemen, for the love of the dearest thing in your heart, rethink this sport of drifting.

Should we stop all forms of racing on closed courses? The sport of drifting is performed and judged on closed courses.

For all the crazy **** like that I did in my youth and 20s, I broke my pelvis hauling freight and delivering it, at 45 y/old. Doctors agreed it's due to being an overachiever. I may never work again as I could have, as a normal paced working man. This sucks Men.

Again, I'm sorry for your broken pelvis, but what does you hurting yourself have to do with drifting?

I may always have to park in handicap parking, be close to restrooms, and contend with a partner that is not getting what is deserved physically. I ask that you not hate for this post but take it as only information.

          That's probably too much information...

I care, and as a retired Kentucky Peace Officer, I've answered codes or calls of dyer need and emergency, laid motorcycles down and climb through firey crashes to victims.

I don't know what a peace officer is, but my dad was a deputy sheriff and I know he would say that he hasn't seen anyone seriously injured because they were trying to drift. He would say the problem was speeding and driving under the influence. Maybe that's because the sport of drifting is done on closed courses?

As this is becoming harder to for me to finish, I will also say that my closeest male friend could lose his 31 Y/old wife to this sport, the 05 Nissan Sentra is gone, and her life in the picture is hanging, it's critical. It was preventable.

Was she drifting her sentra? I'm sorry you hate drifting so much but if you're going to make arguments like this, it would probably be an ideal time to explain what happened and why drifting had anything to do with it.

Accidents do happen, often I think about what if I hurt some playing like that.

Drifting on the street is sometimes reckless, but the actual "sport" isn't even performed on public roads.

Drifting can happen at times that is not wanted.

Deadly accidents that happen from a preventable drift gone wrong can be devestating.

They can indeed, but the vast, vast majority of drifters won't drift at very high speeds (or at all) on the street. The ones that do that are actually "street racers", which are not to be confused with drifters, who are in a strict sense, semi-professional drivers.

Best wishes, live long and safe. Live in Peace.

And finally, note that the car in the video was drifting on a closed course and had ample safety equipment.

The drifter on a track I have no problem with, however you must know that many young people are doing this on the streets and roads in rural and urban America, maybe other countries. This is a volitile set up.

Sir, the attached is the end result of an unintentional DRIFT, on a roadway.

I'm a retired KY Peace Officer and have made a fair share of 1st responder motorist assists.

This is the closest I came to seeing my fathers remains for the last time, due to a closed coffin.

Intentional Drifting is not healthy on public roadways !
              And Its illlegal.

The driver of the other vehicle said he went to sleep at the wheel.
No charges were filed, ruled as an accident by local Sheriff.

I believe I have reason to take this personal.

I play hard, I play with safety of others in mind as priority.

We can never think safe enough. Accidents do happen!

Come on man! I'm sorry but HOW is someone falling asleep at the wheel the same as someone swinging the back end of their car out on a low speed corner? Seriously wtf.

You asked, If some one dies from some mishap it's tragic whether is it all out an accident, or if it was a choice to do something that could get yourself killed or maimed for life, this is WTF I'm speaking of.

So far as I can see this forum of real people, are real. I mostly want no one on the forum to ever be witness to the tragedy of under-educated young and oldsters engaging in this sport if you must call it that. Try driving those damned NASCAR's, that's some real drifting-nonstop!

I've done some crazy **** too, and got real lucky, no one ever got hurt, I got shook up many times, nothing permanent as a result of my juvenile vehicular stunts. I just could not live so well with myself if I had caused the death of someone because I wanted to play Jack Ass. And I know a very good friend's Son that was car surfing, again, under-educated, no protection.
He is now a part of a Beautiful Memorial garden. The father is devastated.

I've been so fortunate to have met some of the neatest people I've ever known. We are all going to die some day, this fact is real too. I just want us at wihandyman.com to play safe and be educated.

There are those in eastern Ky. doing this around hairpin curves on mountains, without the proper equipment and knowledge. Recipes for a tragic end

A good number of us on the site are from the school of not always silver spoon meals, some have even missed many meals!

Dear sir, thanks for you reply. My heart is truly in the right place.
I wish all much fun, bumps and bruises happen. When it does, we have each other to help heal the wounds, If one of us dies, then what?

I know I would take it very hard if an active member suddenly passed.
How would we know until the funeral is long over.

No one can ever tell me that It won't bother me to hear of some one on this site passing. Believe this; I feel closer to some of you people for the kindness you have shown me, than the Fraternal Brotherhood I was so loyal to for most of my career.

WTF, BIC, is Because I Care.

Don't hate me because I care.

And please don't ban me for caring,

Well I respect that you care, and see your point to some extent, however I still feel that you're a bit harsh on drifting. I agree that reckless driving is a bad thing, and that people should be more careful, but that being said I don't feel that there is anything wrong with drifting if it's done in a responsible manner.

I have to say that this is a conflict of apples and oranges...

I have founded a Car Club in north west TN, one of the only rules in this group is NO street racing, and we have a ZERO tolerance for this... the local track is sponsoring a free night EVERY thursday night so that people who want to stay safe can come in and race... they even provide the helmets.

we are talking to the owners of the old walmart here in town (they just built a supercenter and sold the old building) to close down there parking lot on saturday nights so we can have POLICE SANCTIONED drifts WITH EMT's present.

long story short most people on here keep it on the track where it belongs... Please don't hate on us because of your misplaced anger towards someone who "fell asleep driving". The guy who killed your dad was not drifting in an empty parking lot with emt's standing by.

I am sorry for your loss but don't blame us for OUR SPORT.

And it is BIC that i made the rule of no street racing... and we go to the track... I don't want to do this on the road and kill someone... I have alot on my conscience I don't need a death like that too

Again I am sorry for your loss I pray for people who have untimely losses just like that.... I only hope that your dad was a God fearing man. If he was then he is in a better place now anyway.
