    my new wagon

I was touring the junkyard last week and the owner asked if id be interested in an escort wagon.Living in Wisconsin, i asked about the body. They said it was mint, so i went the same night to go check it out.Long story short, i picked the car up the next day.The car has 74k original miles and looks/drives like new.It was owned by some old couple and has been sitting in a pole barn for the past 3 years due to the husband dying and the wife had no experience driving stick. The car kinda has a faint smell of barn. Its a 91 lx with factory roof rack delete,no rear wiper,no a/c,no egr, and the grey bumpers.I did a few minor exterior modifications so far to hold me over till i can get the v6 swap in.I took the side moulding off, removed all emblems and bumper stickers, and put my bronze protege lx wheels on.Im hoping to pick up either my old suspension setup or a new setup in the next week or so.Heres some pics after i washed it today.

You didn't put how much you paid. I owned a 98 Escort Wagon. I prefer the look of the 3rd gen. However, that one looks so clean and the paint is still so good, I probably would buy it too. I also owned a 91 LX at one time but it was the sedan version. So how much did you pay the junkyard?

I paid $500 for the car.I was goin to haggle on the price to see if could get it cheaper but decided to just hand the money over before i pissed the lady off.The car was way too clean to pass up.

as soon as i can find a decent v6 trans, the swap will be done.I kinda feel bad about doin the swap in this car though cuz its so damn clean and reliable.Im averaging about 120miles to 1/4 tank.If i do the swap on this car though, im deff gunna clean up the motor and make it look stock under the hood almost like its a factory car.

ive got egt sideskirts and hopefully a LTS bumper from another member, but being a wagon, i have no stock options for the rear bumper.Im still debating whether to just keep it stock with the LTS bumper and sell the skirts or try it without the rear bumper.Idk yet but time will tell i guess

you could try moulding the egt rear bumper bottom section to the wagon bumper, it would be different and pretty sure it would look good
