Anyone interested in a tint G2G?

This is something I've done in TeamFocus.us a bunch of times:

My Brother tints professionally in Western Mass. A couple of times a year he comes out to north east Mass (where I live) to do tint G2Gs. I figure early May (like the 1st weekend) is a good time to get windows tinted.

I'll be posting on Team Focus & FEOA also to have one big tint g2g.

I'll have a price list up later.

              g2g = get together

tint g2g = a get together where cars can get tinted

My Brother has worked tinting cars for 7 years in Western Mass. He offers a warranty against defects, and is very picky about his work.

His prices, small to med cars:
Mass (all side windows, rear window) legal, 50% film
              4 door - $125
              2 door - $110

NH (all side windows except front doors, rear window) legal, 50% film
              4 door - $110
              2 door - $95

Vehicles from other states can be done. Please know your state's 'legal limit'.

              windshield strip $30

Tint films available are 50%, 35%, and 20%. The lower the number, the darker the film. MA & NH legal minimum is 35% metered (that's the reason 50% is used,35% meters too dark). Factory glass is tinted already and a 50% film usually brings a window to 40%.

I am working on a host site at the moment.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

What kind of film does he use? Metallized or charcoal?

What kind of warranty does he offer? Lifetime?

Does he tint to the top of the window?

Can he do the rear window in one piece?

Does he remove the door panels to get the film under the window rubber seals? Or does he tuck the film in?

What brands tint does he use?

                  EXCELLENT questions!

He uses Solar Gaurd film, charcoal. He can get meatalized, but it's more money.

Warranty: 5 years on non metalized, lifetime on metalized
All the tints I've seen him do have been non metalized. Most people don't want to spend the extra money since they are never sure how long they plan on keeping the car.
He tinted my Focus in Dec 2002, in an unheated garage (It was about 2 degrees out) with a store bought film, and it's still holding fine.

Rear windows: 99% of them can be done with one piece. There are a few exceptions. The Protege can be done in one.

He goes up as far as the dot matrix. It can be you option to go over it, but it will require a little work from the owner.

He tucks the film under the lower rubber seal. You'd have to tuck it any way. Even if you took the door panel off.

If you want reviews of his work, anyone that also belongs to http://www.teamfocus.us can go to the New England section and ask. He's done a good number of cars for that group at g2gs.

                    Solar guard film is good.

I'd definitely want metallized though, NOT charcoal.

I'm in NH, but I still want the front windows done as well. If he has a problem doing that, let me know.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 35% for the front two, and 28% for the rears. Would that be too dark for the fronts? I'd like to see what different %'s look like before I did that.

He'll do what you want as far as tinting. It'll just be your responsibility IF the 'boyz in blue' take offense.

I have to get ahold of him to ask him what % of metalized film he has available.
