Will an injen CAI from a P5 fit my 1.6 99 pro?

It might fit but it will be full of problems. Play it safe and get the one for the 1.6

dude you can make almost any intake fit your car, with slight mods. as long as you have a clue, you can do it.

do not use it, it will not be good for your car. your cel will be on all the time. just get the one for the 1.6, i have had it for a while and still have no probs....

it won't work. the MAF and temp sensor is a bitch on the 1.6L, and it will only work properly in the injen or stock tube i've tried making 6 other intakes, and none worked. your other option is to cut the tube off the stock air box and make your own out of PVC. it looks pretty ghetto, but i made a ram air one that worked pretty good. course i've got an injen now, and don't plan on going back to anything else

Yeah, you'd have to make a custom mounting point for the 1.6's oddball MAF sensor that's completely different from the 1.8 and 2.0's.

What else is this guy selling that probably won't fit your car? Sucks that you can't take advantage of the deals.

corksport sells the injen i believe for about $200
pretty expensive, but at least you know it will work
i am planning to get that during christmas break
                    when i work again

                    sorry to steal the thread
isn't it true when you put an intake, it decreases your
low end torque, but increases the high rpm torque.
                    any feedback on that
                    thanks

A CAI (Cold Air Intake) will generally reduce low end torque while raising highend horsepower and torque. an SRI (short ram intake) will generally raise low end torque and mid to high end HP but not as large of gains as the CAI. this only applies to NA (naturally aspirated) cars. on turbo cars the SRI is generally better as the turbo heats the air anyway and it is the job of the IC (intercooler) to cool the charge going to the motor. the only advantage I see a CAI having on a FI (forced induction) car is the ability to easily mod it for RAM AIR!!! (my next mod)

                      hope this helps.
