    pic of dowel pins in cam

    hi ,
    any pics of the position of the dowel pins on the cam gear ,so i can put the gears on the cams and install the timing belt,
    engine is a bpze

    In the I slot for the intake and the E slot for the exhaust.

      no thats not what he is talking about... there are little allignment pins on the end of the cams... unfourtunatly both the cam gears have 2 slots and will let each cam gear seat in 2 positions (one wrong and one right)

      he needs a picture to figure out what slot needs to seat around the pin for correct timing on each cam... i would LOVE to provide the picture but i am 2500 miles from the only engine i have.

        i've read that the dowel pins on both cams have to be at the 12 o;clock position ,
        and the gears must have I up on the intake side, and E on the exhaust side
        am i right on this?

          there is a E and a I on both. you put the pin in the E on the exhaust side and the I on the Intake side. then bring both to TDC and put the belt on.
