    Suppose it was my turn...

Last night I met some friends an we were chatting for hours. Then we decided to return home and do some runs on the way home. So a friend of mine with a crx had his 2nd cyl sparkplug wire pop out twice. we stopped to see what's happening and i left my car idling. After 15-20 mins, we returned to our cars to continue our way home, and I find my mx with the engine off. Try to start it and was runnin' on 3 cylinders. we changed sparkplug wires from a fellow with a bp but with no luck.. my friend checked if it there was compression if i was cranking from the oil check hole, but nothing, so it must be a bad valve... damn...
I'm thinking of buying a second ride for a daily and do a complete mx-3 rehauling...

don't know yet. It happened at 4 in the morning and I was too frustrated to look at it...
If it overheated wouldn't I have boiled coolant all over the place? There was nothing leaking under the engine...

Forget it, lock it, delete it. The motor is fine :D :D :D maybe it was a fouled plug from too rich mixture. I went to change the spark plugs and found one spark plug wire off . Happy easter from Greece.

Yep, had 1 plug wire messed up on mine after cleaning the engine. I can't imagine the car running on 2 cylinders, on 3 it was slow as hell and sounded like a Subaru. I laughed the whole time until my new NGK wires came in.

i had one of the coils on my old escort LX wagon die before. its a wasted spark setup, so if one coil dies you are running on 2 cylinders... 1/2 of 88 horsepower is no fun! does sound cool though, like a subaru as ryan mentioned.

As a sidenote , I think carbs are better in handling these situations. Before I swap the motor in the 323 (2 years ago) I did 270 kms with 5 people and baggage and I could keep the motor running if it was over 3k rpm . This time, I couldn't even reach 3k in neutral so I could return home...
