    custom bumper info

hey for you guys that are always searching for body kits... i have some interesting news. i've just finished installing a buddy club bumper intended for a 90-94 honda accord. it is only 1/2 inch too wide...a detail that is easily overcome if you center up up the width with a 1/4 inch on both sides. i was suprised to learn that the accord is so similar is size to our cars. i'll post some pics as soon as i can get a decent camera [and learn how to post pics]. hopefully i'll find some other exterior components that will fit as well. next goal is to get the rear bumper squared away.

Good find 91-93 integra front bumpers will work also.
On the 90-94 Accord does the back bumper fit also??
I've tried a 95 rear bumper and if fit perfect in width, but fell about 3-4 inches too short on the sides.

Oh by the way guys the 92-95 Civic rear bumper works good with very little modifications....I'll be getting the experimental Civic Body kit today so I'll keep ya posted on the extent of modifications required to make the rear fit (very very little)..

Well, guys sorry the civic back bumper takes quite a bit to be made to fit. The one that i test fitted was polyeurathane so it fit alot better than the fiberglass one that i am fitting now.

So don't go and order a civic back bumper just yet.

About the side skirts, if you know a little about fiberglass you could use civic ones. the only thing is that you would have to cut them about 4 inches shorter, I don't know of any that will directly fit without modifications though. Besides the Escort's, and those aren't going to line up right with bodykit bumpers.

I remember reading a thread on pclub where someone used sideskirts from a sunfire which required no modifications. Just an idea.

I have a sunflower...I mean Sunfire in my shop that i'm about to paint and it has a body kit on it, but the sides measure 75" long....about 7" too long. So there would be modifications and the sideskirts would have to be off a 4 door.

Tweeaks, did you use the 92-95 civic rear bumper on your car? Those side skirts look great on it too, what are they off of?
To each his own... my own just happens to be ****ty.

Not that this is really relevant... but I just wanted to show everyone the WORST option... the one i chose to do of course. Custom fabricating your own bumper. I've never used fiberglass before I started this project, but i think i'm pretty damn good now. It's the stock bumper (cut up a bit) plus a plywood frame screwed to it plus a LOT of fiberglass. I'm on my 3rd gallon of resin already. I've been workin on it for about 5 months now in my free time and hopefully will have it done within the next month. I already purchased two 6" offroad lamps to go in two of the holes and I'm fillin the middle with mesh. Just postin this hopin somebody out there will appreciate all the retarded work I'm puttin into my retarded car. !13!

Custom **** is great if you can pull it off... the problem is if you do a bad job but still show it off anyway. It looks pretty good to me. Definitely better than my first experience with fiberglass.
