    16x8 on a 2nd gen?

    Hi folks!

Please excuse me if this has been asked before. I tried looking for information on wheel sizes, etc, but couldn't find anything that was useful to me. So here it goes...

I am looking at a set of wheels+tires but unfortunately all I know about them is the fact that they are comnig from a 94 Toyota pick-up truck, and they are 16x8 inch 5 lug wheels. I will attach a pic as well.

Can you tell if those will fit my '97 Protege LX?

    Thanks a lot!

    edit: offset is "ET 36"

Actually the wheels are 16x7.5, but still isn't that a bit too wide for my car? (this is my first time shopping for wheels and I have no idea what I'm looking for)

Once again, to answer my own question - those wheels don't fit. My pro has 4 lugs only. Sad... cuz those wheels are an excellent deal.

no the rims are 5 lug,, you have 4 lugs ...
how can it fit your protege?
          it won't...

          ---------------------

          What you should look for.
Try and get your hands on a set of 16x7 wheels. If what you want is 16's...
The offset should be +40 or +38.. either should be fine.
check out ebay ... you can also use civic rims, maita rims, integra rims.. and a few other rims that fit other 4x100 bolt pattern cars.

                            17's. I would want a +40 offset with 4x100 bolt pattern..
But I wonder if we could run a +38 ... wich should make the tire stick out a bit more. and give the mazda a bit more of a sportier look

I don't want the tire to stick out. I wanna keep it stealthy.

My engine is weak enough so I don't want to show off that much and then get unnecessary attention from people who would wanna race me
