    WTB 1st Gen Protege LX

    Now for the hard part.

Needs to be manual with no sunroof. I need it to have a full interior (front seats/stereo optional). It does not have to have a title. Minor body damage is OK, but I don't want to have to cut and weld whole sections of the car. I'm looking for project car prices...$600 or less.

it's got project written on it, but it'll drive outa the box. he's in Miami, asking $900 last I read.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

            Nope.

I was helping my sister sell her '93 Protege LX. I had it on Craigslist.

A guy from town wanted to check it out yesterday. I wanted to wait and see if he was going to buy it first.

He did buy it, so I'm sorry to say that I've got nothing for you.

            Good luck finding one!

That's no problem man. I'll still keep looking. I might also jut look for a DX and convert it to BP. That might be a little easier to find and I can go ahead and start working on the car while I hunt for a BP w/ harness. Is the DX manual the same as the manual that comes with the BP?

Yeah, a DX will be MUCH easier to find than an LX, at least that's the case in my area.

The DX comes with an F-series transmission(weaker) while the LX comes with the G-series.

I just located one here in my area. I'll be picking it up Friday. I appreciate all the help so far. Now I need to go junkyard hunting for all the lighter weight DX stuff to swap out. I figure the manual windows will weigh less than the power regulators.

Good to hear you finally found something.

To be honest, the DX isn't much lighter at all than the LX, and the BP more than makes up for it anyways.

Every little bit helps though. One of the local Rabbits I'll be competing against weighs less than 1700lbs. He has holes drilled in everything he can legally drill holes in. I'll be doing the same with this car. I've lost out on FTD trophies in my Protege5 by 7/1000ths of a second. I don't have to worry about this car being daily driver comfortable or practical so it is going under the knife for everything.

I'm stripping the maual windows out of my 94 DX now. So far the right side glass and hardware is out.
Let me know if you're still looking for the manual crank. It'll only be missing one window crank handle. I used it in the Club Race car.

I'm turning the car into an Enduro/Howler car (Star Speedway & Hudson Speedway, both NH). So I will have some other items (lights, seats, door panles, mirrors, maybe air bags) soon.
