    FWD flywheel in a 4WD

I guess it was already discussed before but i need to know whether the FWD flywheel and clutch will fit with the 4WD transmission. I'm asking because Jay suggested getting a Fidanza flywheel but they are for FWD proteges.

    Thanks

The setup I'm using is a fidanza flywheel for a 1.8 miata, and an ACT clutch for a 93 mx6. Corksport gave me that data, all the needed clearances come out accurate when bolted into a bpt drivetrain.

50 cents says a 1.8 miata flywheelwheel and a fwd protege flywheel are the same damn part, but I wouldn't risk much more than that on that bet...

It's always the same people who help... thanks again

BTW, i looked for a tranny and the guy wanted 700 Can for tranny, clutch and flywheel... a bit steep especially that i don't want the flywheel and clutch. The cables are all cut so i'll need your quote eventually. He couldn't tell if it's a GTX or GTR but i'm 100% sure it's a GTX, he didn't find any stampings?!? I still have a couple more places to check before going back to that guy. BTW, it's the same guy who sold a GTR front clip last week.

its difficult to tell the gtx/r transmissions apart from the outside, they look identical

What's better, getting a complete GTR drivetrain (Engine, Tranny, ECU, turbo) with unknown miles on it or building a BP from scratch with custom turbo and getting a GTX tranny.

I'm going standaalone in both cases.

                my opinion MAY be biased.

GTR... You couldn't build an engine with that sort of hardware for 2-3 times what it would cost you to buy a complete GTR motor.

Jon, shouldn't your sig have it's own thread?
