    911 swap won't start

    Swap is done, BP05 into a 1991 Mazda 323. everything is plugged in and i'm using a BP05 ecu, but it wont start, it turns over but won't start, i think i have the distibutor on wrong, its getting fuel, but not firing right, all it does is turn over, can any1 show me pics of there distributor and spark plug wires, and i think i installed the distibutor wrong, i'm not sure which way is the right way, repair manuel doen't help, i've been tryin 4 the last 2 hours all kinds of things, plz help

    what wiring harness are you using? if you are using your original, did you add the 4th wire for the disty? if you are using a BP05 harness you should be fine.

    pull the disty cap off and turn the motor over by hand until it gets to TDC on cyl 1 (crank will be at TDC and the E and I on the cam gears will point straight up). now look at the cap, make sure the rotor is pointing at the #1 plug wire. when i reassembled my motor i had the rotor off by 120* at first. definately wont start if this happened.

      i figured it out, engine timing was off, its all good now, she started right up.
      yes i am using my 323 wiring harness, but i did not run a 4th wire to the disty, it only has 2 wires on the plug, the check engine light is on, but i will get that scanned 2morrow when I get rid of my old sohc engine, but its running and timed, i'll have it on the road 2morrow

        the CEL is on because you dont have the additional disty wires hooked up and you dont have vics hooked up

          thanks 4 the heads up, i also wanna see if anything else is gonna pop up when i get it scanned, but atleast i know why its on, are the other 2 wires REALLY IMPORTANT??????? i'm not sure if it will hurt the engine, plz give me an answer
