    Autocrossed today

I felt pretty sick and threw up before my runs, and felt like **** afterwards (excuses, excuses), and pulled off 4th/15 in STS with a 88.x lap time compared to the people that beat me running 87.x so that sucks. I definitely wasn't pushing the car as hard as I should have. There was a pretty cool BP festiva there with coilovers and nitrous and he got a 90.x if I remember correctly. I'd like to see how his does after he gets better tires on there. No pics yet, just thought I'd keep you guys updated on the season, so that's 4 4th place finishes (ugh). I don't know the tarmac rally results yet but I'm 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

Hopefully I can get a 1st place for BG crew eventually.

I'll post pics once they are up on our local forum

me too! i went out partying all night last night with a lady friend and barely made registration. lets just say i wasn't in top form. i did pretty good all things considered. my best lap time was 58 seconds and the fastest lap i saw all day was 44 by a built to the hilt, wider than all outside old school mustang.

the big thing is that it makes me want to improve my ride!! i can't wait to exchange my BP for a built and boosted version.. and GET SOME DECENT TIRES.

all in good fun! and met some real cool people too!

IMO before you try boost, get 15x7 wheels, bridgestone re-01r or falken rt-615 tires and a front lower tie bar.

agreed... i've got waaay too much going on right now. the car is going to be tore down and rebuilt this winter. the list is pretty substantial but wheels, tires and a sway bar are all on the list. my car will never be full out race but it will be much more track worthy. i play for the fun of it!!

first i got to sell off the remenants of a failed relationship so that i have some $ every month..

LOL Gotta love the failed relationships...

What class are you gonna race in? I'd go with STS if you want to race on street tires, or FSP if you want slicks. That is until you get a turbo and LSD, then you'll be in some modified class. If you need suspension setup ideas for STS I can help you.

no slicks here.. i can't see taking it that seriously in the near future. if i were to i would hunt down a 323.. (and a $ tree) that would rock!

i registered as STS because of my cone filter shaved trunk and ZX2 struts. i plan on running STX next year if all goes well. i'm not extremely competitive. i like to watch myself get better and watch the outrageous rides have a go!! plus the local SCCA members are a good group to get to know. i had a blast just conversating in the parking lot. its just something positive to get involved in.. and a lot of fun too!

any knowledge you could drop on me is always appreciated! i should be able to start some real mods within the next couple months. just need to get out from under a house and a car first. sux.

Why are you going to be in STX?

i plan to have a new drivetrain next year. i'll try to stay running in STS in order to be competitive but i might get bumped.. i really don't care. i just like to get out on the track!! i'm sure i'll learn more as time goes on.. and i'm certainly not going to bump myself unless somehow i start winning these things.. who knows? like i said... my pro will never be a race car but it is fun to get out on the track and rip around safely and legally.
