    Masters MX3 worklog

Most of you know and seen what I have, but I never started a work log. So here it is.

I have done the BPT swap and next will be the G series swap, that is as soon as I get all my parts.

This week I plan on doing the ISC delete. I will be cleaning this TB first. When Fall semester starts up Ill have the Idle air valve replaced too.

I've thought about doing the same thing but if you unplug that wire then your car idles up. I don't know how well that will work but definetly let us know.

Being that I live in AL it never really gets cold. ISC acts as a choke so as to turn up the idle speeds when the engine is cold. The reason the idle rises when it is unplugged is because the valve that fluctuates the air is not working or is wide open. Plugging it will not change anything. For the plug that goes to the ECU, leaving it unplugged wont change anything( I believe that the ISC receives a signal from the ECU and doesn't return one back)

Now Im in the process of gathering parts for a low budget OEM rebuild. I have the B6T connecting rods, BPT pistons, BPT crank, and BP block.

Block- Plan on drill honing and decking if not flat.

Any suggetions for rings, bearings and what not.

Please dont be negative, for I pickup these parts for less the 150 dollars. So I figure to spend less the 500 dollars more for this build. Should be fine for 15-20 psi

I don't run an idle air control valve (yet) with megasquirt and car idles fine although it is a little tougher to get going when it's really cold

And again same here. I'm not running any idle control now with the BP-26 nor will I be using it with my MS. On cold days I just give it a little gas for few seconds.

I really like not having the idle control. no crazy up and down of the tach.

Charlie, you can do clevite bearings for fairly cheap. The rings, you could do factory rings but they usually cost a little more. JE rings are what I'm using. One of the Honda techs I work with doesn't recommend the JE rings in Hondas becuase they cause smoking. Hondas use fiber sleeves as opposed to the iron sleeves that Mazdas use, so smoking may not be an issue. Keep looking around and tell me what you end up using.

I have the B6T now. Will be taring down in the morning for the rods. Does anyone know where I could sell the remaining B6T parts.
