i just did the Exhintake mod on my 92 escort gt, and what a difference it made!! anyway, a friend who owns a miata was telling me about a mod to the ecu where you can change the fuel cut out of the stock ecu by changing the crystal. Is the ecu on any BP engine the same (miata, EGT, Protege) aka can i do the miata ecu mod on my EGT? thanks

there is no need to rev higher than that, especially if you are going to be boosted. i dont rev my turbo BP nearly as i high as i do the stock one, there simply is no need.
the hydraulic lifters start having issues at ~7400 ive been told, so you'd need to switch over to solid lifters and new cams in order to go higher than that anyway. i dont see an extra 200 rpm doing you any goodEscort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI
