ummm, the GTR has the capability of being MUCH faster. if its running like crap, it could in fact be slower i suppose.

The GTR turbo doesn't take too much longer too spool than the GTX but there is so much more power to be had in the top end.

At 15psi a GTR would make somewhere in the 50whp more than a GTX ... and it would only go up from there.

it should spool a lot quicker than that, i get 9psi by 3500 or so... your turbo may be worn out or something

You've got a breathing problem if it's not spooling to a lotta boost by 3500. Maybe clogged cat, maybe too-small exhaust, maybe lousy intercooler, or combo of all three. My car has about 1 bar by 3600...

Im sure this isn the problem but I noticed that you were running bosch platinum Platinum plugs arent good for boost. Either run some copper plugs and change them every couple months or switch to NGK irridiums. I like irridiums personally.

the gtr can produce high hp with not tooo much lag when properly tuned but for drag racing, the gtr or gtx are not the best cars because the have a relatively weak tranny. if you really want a drag car that will be used for drag racing only better go with something rwd like a rx7 or supra. if you still want to run a gtr do not install a clutch with undampened friction disc and get a couple of spare transmissions.

                      old thread is old
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

Not to mention all the factory weight loss in the GTR

We build a GTX dragger a few years ago, locked up the diffs so rwd, ripped the interior out, VF turbo, small front mount, modified 12a turbo injectors, running 18psi, few other bits n pieces - we were beating evos, wrxs, and a porshe! Looked like ass (primer) but did the trick!
