Yeah MX-3s are nice. I have one for my pass side. Although if you have money and want support and light weight get a racing seat. Should be pretty easy to modify the stock rails to fit one, thats how mine is.
1991 Mazda Protege DX | 1.8l Mazda B8 | Rotted out & junked
1996 Ford Escort LX | 1.9l Ford SEFI | Blown engine & sold
2000 Ford Escort ZX2 S/R | 2.0l Ford Zetec | Former project, sold due to lack of time
1998 Subaru Legacy Outback | 2.5l Subaru EJ25 | Current daily driver
yea, mx-3 seats are great. very race-like. they hug tighter than any seat i've ever sat in. the only problem is that if you're a really overweight guy, you might not fit too well. my friend just drove a mazdaspeed 3 and said my seats hug tighter.
Recaro's out of a 92-93 MX3 will be the most "engineered" bolt-in performance seats that you can get for an EGT
Agreed. I'm 6'1" 250lbs and they feel nice to me. Make sure you get the mx3 rails though. It will be a direct swap and it will sit 2-3 inches lower than a stock seat(well that's how low it dropped in my pro)
1993 Protege LX-Midnight's shadow SOLD
1996 Honda CBR600-Wrecked. Damn Honda crippled me

they arent actually recaro's, it doesnt say recaro anywhere... i guess you could call them "recaro style"?
but yes the seats changed in 94 i believe, to something more generic looking

they dont say it anywhere because that are designed by recaro and built by mazda. recaro has built seats for OEM manufacturers for years. there site has a list of their current product cars: http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=2599®ion=3&L=2

I saw a very old picture once. Think it was of the 92-93 Leather seats where it still had a small decal right in the seat back that said Recaro right on them. Now this decal was just a transfer. So the first 100 times sitting in the seat would wear it right off.
But yes. Those seats were Recaro designed and then built by mazda
I have the 94 seats and I love them, they hug me just fine and I'm 6' 185lbs. All my passengers enjoy riding in them when I get crazy too, I actually don't like the Earlier Seats, they look tiny in the Pro's or 323's plus I like the adjustable headrest on mine, but to each his own, I wouldn't call them generic looking though cause they have full bolsters except the head restraints commonly found on racing seats, such as the Recaro GT3 found in what else... a Porsche GT3.
Check my sig pic... even though you don't see much.
