    What's my Escort GT worth?

    Hello Club Protege members,

I need a bit of help pricing my 1991 E-GT. I'm selling to a friend and want to be fair to both of us.

I've owned this car for approx 6 years, and in the past 2 1/2 years i've preformed the following:

New Front and rear brakes, cailpers, rotors, & pads
new E-brake cables, all 3 of them
new Water pump, timing belt, & tensioner & idle pulley & drive belts
New ZX2 ford performace strut/spring kit
    new headlamps (aftermarket)
    new driving/fog lamps (oem)
    new stereo/cd player and speakers
    New Konig Helium wheels (5)
new Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires 205/50/15
new front outer tie rod ends, lower ball joints and front & rear sway bar end links
spent a total of $2360.00 on parts alone not including whats listed below

And of course all normal maintenance items oil, filtes, plugs, wires etc..

And a complete repaint. professional not a quicky. removed all trim
and used BASF products top end stuff

also incuded are two sets of factory wheels, one set normal street tires, the other has Yokohama A008 autocross tires mounted 40-60% tread remaining.

I really love this car and have/had plans to one day road race in SCCA and NASA events however my buisness is growing and i need to purchase a work van and can use the extra money and space, plus my buddy needs a good car and likes this one.

Kelly Blue Book list dealer retail around $1600, private party around $1100

Edmunds is much lower than KBB.

I made my friend an offer of $1400 and i want to make sure i'm not so into this car that i'm making unreasonable offers.

    Thanks in advance

I've been reading Club Protege since aorund 04', i think, and have learned a lot of valuable information.

I would check with NADA blue book, it gives three different level of pricing; it will make it easy for you to decide properly price to make it fair. For that Escort GT, in my area the retail price would go 1025 - 2175. Especially the addition options that are going with the car, but since its your friend a price break is a good thing.

I think 1400 is a good deal especially what all he's getting. Bone stock egt in good running condition with 0 rust goes for around 1500. Tell your buddy to join clubprotege when he gets it. Good luck with your biz

Edit: I just noticed you're in columbus. I'm in cinci. Maybe one day we can get some sort of meet going on. Its good to see other bg owners in ohio.

wow, hell of a clean car. if the paint was done right, and it's not rotted to death underneath, with all those parts and the autocross tires that car should be worth $2000-$2500 to some one looking for a clean car to build.
