    AWD or RWD Escort?

how hard would it be to make a Gen 2 escort rwd or awd? just a question

your in canada, import a sierra cosworth if you want an awd escort. then sell it to me when you're done with it. aka too hard, use the search as it is talked about every couple of days by new members

rwd would be much easier imo.

awd rear end with a fc limitied slip and ring gears (miata and awd are 2 week)
was actually looking inot it and corksport has a few customers with rwd. if you want straight line then a solid rear end. lefts and rights or drift id say fd rear end is the narowest.

someone on feoa took measurements, comes out the awd BG tranny doesn't fit without cutting the firewall. so if you're going to cut, might as well go all the way and do what jon said, miata with a 8.8 ford rear end.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

I think they called it the 323 GTX if I remember correctly, and it wasn't weak... that's why I'm building the same motor for my ride.

I like the Miata BP drivetrain idea, that would be awesome and then get a custom carbon driveshaft for ****s and giggles. I could see the tours of his Escort already.... "and here's(get's on knees) my driveshaft".

I would totally enjoy a build like that on this website as a build thread is always good reading!

I think alien meant the trannies are weak, the engines still kick ass.

no what i mean is the gtx/miata pinion shaft or gears are 2 small. when i called cs they said after 250hp straight to those diffs will cause problems.

that is why they guy said use a straight axle, no CV's, or you could go with an independent out of an RX7 TII, 4.11 gears and posi stock! They are pretty stout, and its probably narrower than your escort/protege so you could get some semi wide rubber under there for traction. its perfect width for my car...

something like this, complete package and rear disks!

This would be for RWD specifically
