who wants to take a stab at my drag time?

sooooo i'm going up to the 1/4 mile strip on friday, and i want to get some opinions from people as to how well they think i'll do

ive never been to the strip before, so keep that in mind. i'm not expecting a 2.0 60' time lol. i'd appreciate any tips/info on how to go about launching "correctly" so as to not destroy my car... i do need to drive it home after. spare axles and tools will be present though.

heres my setup... well, any part of it that may be significant while drag racing

1995 EGT - full interior trim minus the back seat
GTR motor at ~15psi, running on a seat-of-the-pants tuned MS2
big FMIC (24x8x3.5" core iirc), 2.25" piping
    3" cat-back, 3" stainless downpipe, external wastegate
used ACT clutch (out of Fazdaboy's car... i think originally in Neuman's car. i'm a little worried about it... lol)
    stock 95 EGT transmission
    no a/c or p/s
stock wheels with street tires (205/50/15 summer tires, 300 treadwear rating, in good shape)
    ground control coilovers, (300#f / 200#r)
    zx2 s/r struts
poly suspension bushings (shouldnt have any wheel hop, i dont on the street)

    and... vote!

with street tires, go around the water box, keep the burn out short and sweet.

Id say 10-15psi in the tire (what tires are they?)

no clue about lunch RPM on a boosted car, but have fun trying not to smoke the tires all thru 1-3

      oh and take video

the tires are dunlop direzza DZ101. they have kind of a soft sidewall which annoys me while driving/cornering, but might actually help on friday.

from what ive read, you want to launch around the RPM where your turbo spools, so for me thats around 3k

ive also read that getting into 2nd sooner than normal is a good idea, since the top end of 1st just bakes the tires anyway

i'm trying to find someone to come up and videotape this, but no luck yet

launching where your turbo spools is great if you have tires to hold the power

<-- 3K launch on falkens results in nothing but spin....and ... well.. you saw the pics

well too low and its going to bog pretty bad because of the low compression... i think i'm just gonna try and give it part throttle in 1st, wheelspin as little as i can... then figure out how soon i can shift to 2nd and still be in boost when i get there.

id try2.5-3K the first time and see where you go from there, if you bog, atleast your now gernading the trans with all that wheelspin

Eh, I really need to sleep soon.......

Also drop the tire pressure down to about 20-25psi. That will help with some traction. Just make sure there's a gas station close for afterwards. Go with about 1/4 tank of gas will reduce weight. 3k off the line in 2nd. Your car has the power to support a 2nd gear start. Maybe bring it to 3500 in 2nd.

i'm afraid a 2nd gear start would get the clutch too hot, i'm probably gonna have problems with it slipping as-is

In my experience anything above 3k RPM in a launch has really bad traction issues. So I'd say launch at around 2.5k and feather it in 1st. Punch it in second and don't worry about it getting some spin there, just back off a little if you do.

Shift at around 6500, that puts you right back into peak torque territory.

With good driving I'd say mid to high 13s.

I just figured with your setup, 1st gear would almost a waste of time to go thru.

should i powershift or whatever its called (keep my foot on the gas when i shift)? or would that be signing a death sentence for my transmission?
