Video of my Protege at Watkins Glen

We filmed a few laps of my piece-of-**** Protege at Watkins Glen last week. I was driving in the advanced run group, where my competition was a bunch of Sti's, a 996 Cup car, a 300ZXTT, and a 944. I was the only one on street tires, so it wasn't exactly easy to keep up. For the mods I've done, I'm moving pretty good out there.

It's the most important mod of all. I've seen so many ridiculous cars go very slowly. Elises are probably the best example. Some of them have amazing drivers--excellent technique and a great feel for the car. I've been absolutely destroyed by them. And then there are Elise owners who are just happy to putter around the track, never approaching the limit.

I had a great time at Lime Rock earlier this year trying to keep up with an old ITB-class BMW 2002. Not much power on that car (still more than me ), but man could he move. We both got by some old Shelby Cobras. They weren't really happy about that.

For next summer though, I'm going to have the BP in, a little exhaust work, Ksports, and 205 R-comps. To top it all off, the car should look a little ****tier because it'll take a few knocks during my ice-racing stuff.
