Source of water in jack holder compartment

I know Jon's has a hole in his beater's in that spot and i just found water the other day in there on my 95. Seems to be coming from the front part of but not sure. I don't see anything obvious. Ideas? I'd like to nip this in the butt ASAP before the car gets cancer!

it is the seal on the tail light. I siliconed the light housing and reinstalled along with sealing the holes on the inside. no more water for me.

mine's coming from the vents in the quarter that are covered by the bumper.

either way, should take only an hour to seal everything

It just happens my right tail light isn't 100% "straight" as the car apparently got into a small accident that the previous owner didn't mention soooooo its a bit more out on the most outer part of the car which would defiantly be the issue considering you guys mentioned it! So i guess i have to remove the whole light and silicone everything that has to do with that light being mounted and any other holes in that area? Thanks!

I have that on my wagon, but it never appeared until the side window in the back was broken. I used sealer on the replacement glass from the junkyard, but in heavy rains, water somehow finds its way inside.

No big deal, really, just annoying, and mosquito attracting...

Well. After seeing the hole in Jon's beater where the holder USED to be i'm a bit paranoid that "cancer" will set in eventually if i don't fix it soon!

yeah, it will. my beater had a giant hole there, and my 95 has a small one. i'm planning on just welding a plate over the spot and cutting off the jack well.

Well so far to help it "slow down" before i can get some time/patience to do the light itself as i have other things that need to be done ASAP, i sprayed some undercoating in the whole jack area. 2 days of paint stink ftw!

The vents are also to help keep carbon monoxide flowing out of the cars cabin, in the event of an exhaust leak. Helps keep fresher air in the cabin.
