    gtx swap basic questions

    hey all.
i drive a 1991 EGT and im hoping to get a complete GTX motor this weekend. (need a truck still) Im also getting a stage 2 clutch, aluminum flywheel, a 255 LPH fuel pump, and a FMIC. After reading the forums for a while i think i have all of the info i need, but i just have a couple questions that i want to be sure of before i tackle this project.

First, you can use the N/A bp harness and ecu with the bpt motor with minor modifications, correct?
And will i need anything else to run stock boost? (for now... ) My budget requires i take this one step at a time.
Thanks for all the great info...

yes with minor mods you can run the stock harness.

technically it will run without any mods at all, but with a few minor changes it will run much better.

it sounds like you've got most of what you'll need. dont forget the little stuff like new plugs/wires/cap/rotor/gaskets/timing belt/etc. unless you know its been changed recently its a good idea to do all that while the engine is out of the car. saves a LOT of hassle later.

having a spare transmission and a pair of axles "available" is always a good idea too, but obviously not required. ive run about 8k miles so far with between 200-260whp/tq and i've only broken one axle... and that was at the drag strip with drag tires on.

those should work fine, but i havent used them personally.

i reccomend copper electrode NGK's... either V-power or solid electrode. i have the part number at home for the solid electrode ones, since thats what i'm running.
