Blow a rod on my 323

I know the motor was going because it was smoking. But since this not my daily driver I only drive it at night.

Yesterday was a nice cool night. Car was running great. Started playing around launching in 2nd gear. Trying it out getting a feel of it. BOOM!
Rod blows out on the expressway. Got scared by the turbo it caught on fire.
I took off my shirt started hitting it. I'm lucky I didn't loose the car.

What I found on the expressway

I was running 16psi. It blow like at 7k 3rd gear.
Nothing happen to the turbo or manifold
Only damage was block and oil pan. Now I'm going to start buliding another motor.
