    Hello Club Protege!!!

    Hea i'm new to this site...but i think everyone here could help me out!! I'm rebuilding a 93 Escort LX Wagon into the A Escort GT Wagon... I have a lot of work to do but will start taking picks and askin come serious questions...if anyone has any info that would help PLEASE feel free to email me!!! By the way i'm changing the motor from the FOrd 1.9 to a Mazda Protege 1.8 DOHC ANYONE have ANY suggestions????? i'm also looking to do a conversion of the drum setup on the wagon to make them disc!! Anyone got any ideas where i could find info that would help or where to find a conversion kit?

    welcome to the club

    check out/search around in the escort forum and the engine swap forum. you may also want to check out www.feoa.net for more escort specific stuff. just so you know there is no kit... the only "kit" you will need would basically be a GT parts car

      Is this a good motor? i've done a little research and as far as i can tell it's good...it's mostly goign to be a Mountain driver.....lol...i know..but i think it has serious potential...do all escort have Mazda suspension? what do you think about the EscortFocus.com site?

        ive never been to escortfocus.com

        yes all 91+ escort's suspsensions are more or less interchangeable with the BG and EC chassis mazdas.

        and yes, its a good motor... mine is pumping out 275whp, with a few mods

            probably best off posting up... i've never done an LX to GT swap myself, but i had considered it for a while (for my wagon) until i came across a nice running GT. everyone here is pretty helpful
