    Ok...Here is my issue....

as i've told everyone i know, i'm rebuilding a Ford Escort LX wagon From Scratch to over come some of the issues i have noticed in the threads here... I have started to tear it down to the frame inside and out!! First i'm looking at dropping the Mazda B-series motor into it, but will i have to change the whole wire harness because it was a 1.9 Ford before and the Engine is coming out of a 90 Mazda Protege? Next i'm trying to change\convert the rear drum setup to a disc...anyone know the best way to do this *thrieldeal* told me there wasn't a kit but does that mean i need to change the whole suspention to do so? or jsut the hub from a protege or EGT? Any Help would be GREATLY apperciated and looked into!! More Questions to come i'm sure!!!!

I think you can transfer the whole rear subframe. If that is possible it's probably the easiest way to do the rear disc swap. I'm not sure though. I've never done it.

Cool...i'll have to look into it!! i've noticed that one here as done a Wagon huh? I'm hoping to get on the road around march....but the body is the last on my list what do you think i need to do with the harness....i'm hopein that i don't have to rewire to much...from what i can tell the Mazda motor jsut drops tright in...and i'm using the LX tranny that is in the car for no ( damn automatic...) what is a good place to find body parts (stock\aftermarket) with good prices? and suspension?

The harnesses are different, so is the ECU. The Mazda BP engine won't bolt up to your LX tranny, Ford and Mazda had different bellhousing bolt patterns. If the car has underbody rust issues, than swapping the entire rear subframe would be the easiest, but if you can get the hubs to unbolt from the arms without too much trouble, than swapping spindles would be easy too.

usually the easiest way to swap the rear endis to do the whole subframe, or to remove the lateral links from the subframe and leave them connected to the spindle. the spindle-arm bolts are hell to remove.
