ordering pistons..... need advice and specs

well everybody... heres my dillema... im gonna be ordering some stock miata pistons but im not exactly sure which ones i should stick with..... so far here are my choices.....

as you can see the dome on the piston contiues to get larger and slightly change shape... now beyond advice from everybody my main question would be...

AM i gonna have any valve clearance issues when running the 9.5:1 or 10:1 pistons in my motor....
im not looking to create an interferance motor, or screw up my head and valves....

does anybody out there have any measurements of the piston to valve, clearance with stock pistons and with miata pistons.... either 9.5 :1 or 10:1....

at this point im not quite sure if i want to invest in building an N/A motor or another BPT motor... thus this becomes a decideing factor.

this may be a slightly repetitive post and i fully apoligize in advance for this.

what is your base engine? what head do you want to use? Will you have oversized valves? Are you going to re"stroke" the engine?
When you turn your car on... does it return the favor?

until you figure this out, this thread is silly.

furthermore, if you're going to build an NA motor....10:1 isn't high enough if you want good power. and if you're going to build up a turbo motor....why change pistons? do you currently have low compression numbers?

              Wisecos are only about 500...

*Edit Then again that is only for the pistons themselves....

I just ran into an engine rebuild kit w/ Ross pistons and rings for about $900 check out my other thread.....

first of all decide what u plan to do run boost or n/a. call je pistons . ask about there 12:1 40 over pistons for the 1.8 bp motor. it does not matter whether it is dome or not. this motor is already an interference motor.je makes any piston set up u want.

NO this motor is a non-interferance motor...I know from experience, I just snapped my timing belt last week!

                    no our motors are non-interference.
anyway which part of new york are you from.

It doesnt matter turbo or not...it means that the valves will not hit the pistons.

On interferance motors you have to be careful about timing belts and chains, cus if they snap then the valves will hit the tops of the pistons...Most motors nowadays are non-interfernce
