And drove a rod through his block.

Everybody seems to say something different on this topic. Do "better" spark plugs really make a difference in performance?

Yes. But at the same time there is no real 'best'....

the cleaner they are the better they fire, clean them up with some gas and a old toothbrush, then stick em back in, or buy new ones

I tried platinums against a bunch of posts that stated otherwise. I wasn't really impressed.
                  Coppers are cheaper.
                  Save your money.

OK, let me restate my question slightly. My car has not quite 10k miles on it. I have a friend who insists that if I buy a set of spark plugs for 16ish dollars I will be able to feel a slight hp difference and my car will run better than if I just keep the stock ones. Is this true?

Nobody can "feel" a slight HP difference.
If your car only has 10k on it, you don't need new plugs really. Stick to the coppers.

That's what I figured but I thought it was worth asking.

1/4 mile drag with BP DOHC engine:

                            Reaction: 0,5771 (not so bad)
60 ft: 2,472 (good for conditions what was)
ET: 16,2411 (but was heavy wind from front and custom intake was just compleated in nigt and setings was worst than bad )
