    5 Lug Conversion

Hey Guys, Im Currently Swapping A V6 Into 91 Lx Now I Got The Engine Situation Under Control I Want To Put Mx6 Wheels On My Protege I Did A Quick Search But Has Any Body Ever Dine A 5 Lug Conversion?

Hey welcome to the club. As for the 5 lug conversion no ones 100% on the swap. The only time i've seen 5 lug swap is when AWD protege owners swap to GTR spindles/brakes. And the only time i've seen a FWD protege/323 with a 5 lug is when they swap in the 2.2 turbo engines from probe/mx6 turbos...not sure whats all involved with that swap tho.

Hope this has helped a bit!

    JACK.

      heres where i can shine

      options:
      GTR- AWD applications

      FWD- Front: 88-92mx6 for use with 2.2turbo or FE3 swaps(28spline)// BA v6 astina spindles & hubs(26spline)

Rear: BA v6 astina -direct swap bearing/hub

besides that its all custom if you wish to take another route.

For the rear, also consider MX6s, first or second gen. the hub has a different diameter for first gen(88-92), don't know about second (93-97 I think). it is possible to machine the rear spindles to fit the mx6 hub.
          Just another option.
Has been said that Protege5 front hubs will work as well, same spline count, same hub diameter.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

I remember attempting this years ago with Ford probe SE parts the rear if my memory serves me correctly i was going to redrill the attachment holes in the rear, And use the 323s trailing arms also i was wanting to use the probe rear struts with the bg tops. but the welder i had to do all of this up for me bailed.
