BF 323 LX engine swap ideas

Found out my friend has a mint 89 323 LX with a blown engine (car is 5 speed).

He's wondering if a 1.8 BP will drop in without having to do any engine bay modifications? Just use the BP engine/tranny/axles/harness/vaf/ecu/mounts?

If not, what would you suggest assides the B6T swap? He's not looking to boost, just to have a bit more power. Would a B6D drop in with just swappin the engine/harness/maf/ecu??

If he rebuilds the motor evileagle has some sweet 10:5 pistons and rods for sale for the b6 sohc motor. That will gibve some extra umph.

well, from talking to a cool cat in WA that has a BG GTX swap in his BF GTX, he said that he had to custom make 2 of the brackets, since the tranny and engine are different. Now, I don't know how that works with the FWD, as I'm not familiar with the setups.

im doing this swap right now (and boosting it) into my 88 323, spliceing and custom mounts are needed, you can search the yahoo gtx forums and 323gtx.net it a new page as mazda323preformance.com is gone.
