    Engine casting letters

    Anyone know or can decipher the casting letters on the back of a klze block?? I have been searching mx-3.com/probetalk/google.. can't find any info on these castings..

    heres mine

    CBB BBB LKKI

    its on the back side of the block right above the rear mount.

    No clue what they mean. The stuff you want is on the cyl. heads in the valley beneath the intake manifold, as well as the cam stampings.

      No I'm not talking about the head codes.. I'm talking about the casting numbers on the block.. here you might be able to see it in the pic.. its on the left where the tranny bolts on.. right above the rear mount.

          EI... Veichle type, Manufacture Plant, Motor age, ... and so on..

          This is not a stupid question concerning what type of motor I have...Just a question on markings on a block that nobody seems to know anything about.

              I called my local dealer and they had now clue.... The guy just said the KL stamp on the block is the type of motor.. He had no Idea about the lettering.

                Never mind in that case! lol

                Maybe see about calling someone higher up in Mazda production? Might be handy to have a Japanese buddy with these waters.
