the 2007 ford fusion has the 2.3L I-4 that has 160hp and 156lbs.ft of torque. The reason i bring this up is because while studying the source books, so i can bone up on product knowledge for my job (selling new/used ford vehicles), i noticed that the 5spd manual transmission that they use is the g5m transmission. which im sure most of you know is a transmission that was bolted to the BP05. now, i know in the 2008 models, they used an electronic throttle body that is incompatible with our cars. HOWEVER, im checking to see if the 2007 or 2006 came with the standard cable throttle body. im wondering if with some finagling we wouldnt be able to get these engines swapped into our cars. i dont think the engine/tranny mounts are going to match up, but those can always be fabbed. im also guessing that you'd have to run a standalone ECU since the car's wiring will be way way way diff.
what do you guys think? personally i think having a bigger displacement engine would be freakin awesome to have.
