    cosworth wing and parts

so does anyone know if its possible to put an escort rs cosworth wing on an american escort? i talked to a guy over seas who makes them awhile ago and he said that they should fit since its the same rear end. then a few years ago when i started driving i found a website escortracing.com that also said that they fit and are good aerodynamics too. let me know if you know anything about it too. or if you know what escort rs parts fit our cars.

the upper may fit, depending how it's mounted, but it looks like the edge of the hatch has a slightly different shape from ours and it would take a bit of modification for the lower spoiler to fit.

you may be able to use the front fenders/bumper/lights/hood, along with the doors, but i don't know how much modification would be necessary. iirc, there isn't a whole lot that is interchangeable between the rs cosworth and the standard european escort, and there isn't much that swaps between the euro escorts and ours

The Merkur XR4Ti is the same chassis/body style as the late 80s European Escorts and Cosworth Escorts. I've known of several people in the states swapping Cosworth stuff onto XR4Tis. The problem is that they're all electrical nightmares and largely rustbuckets by now, in addition to being like 20 years old. They had the 2.3L turbo 4 cyl that Ford used in the Thunderbird Turbo Coupes and the SVO Mustangs. They came with either a Tremec T5 manual or an automatic (don't remember which kind).

        techincallly no they dont fit.
REason is where the upper wing mounts is metal on the euro scort. For us there is glass there. BUt it has been done once that we know of and i think he paid close to 600-700 dollars to get the wing. PLus more for the shop ot make it work.

A buddy had a Scorpio in the 90s, he would heartily second that. If anyone else listens to Jim Rome, he had a XR4TI, which was a total POS, he has a hilarious rant about how bad it was

that's pretty ridiculous... i wonder how much of that was shipping, since you can buy fiberglass copies for ~$300 on ebay

there was a guy on FEOA who had done it. i saved all the pics of it.

it is alot of work. i remember reading that he had to use a special adhesive that worked on glass

                all the prep work

                finished wing

i myself love the idea. but with the cost of getting a wing it might not happen to my escort

sikaflex urethane should hold the wing to the window, and that doesn't look like a stock rs lower spoiler...

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

was it the dual exhaust that gave the rice away, or maybe the two chicks in short shorts looking like sluts? Couldn't be the paint job, cause that's just soo awesome. maybe the 17"s with a 2" drop on "sick ass" low profile tires.

                        Good effort, but still fail.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

It's a sponsored show car, what do you think it should look like? Last I knew it has a boosted 1.9, maybe even a BP by now. I haven't been around Escort forums in a long time though.

I knew the fakercooler was in place for a long time for extra bling factor but I thought it was boosted finally. Who knows, like I said I don't really check out the Escort boards anymore.
