    B6T Head and Rings Questions.

OK, so Craig and I are going to hit the car hard later to replace the headgasket and rings. First Question. If the car has never overheated, Do I need to have the head machined? I know the streight edge reutine, just wanted input.

Also, when the new rings go in after honing the Cylinder, will they make any different noises then normal that I should be ready for at initial fire up?

    Thanks guys.

It's not a bad idea to have the head just a tiny bit shaved to remove any imperfections but you'd need to do this at a machine shop.

Also no, if everything is installed correctly you should hear no abnormal noises.

Sorry ... lol, I was posting while you wrote that so I didn't see it beforehand.

But yes ... walrus does come to mind now that I think about the way a freshened engine sounds at startup. Walrus and death.

HA! I've got dirty fingers still.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.
