yea kinda a nooblett but i've owned plenty of escort gt's just never did anything major besides basic bolt on's and things of that nature but now i have another escort but its a lx and i want to turn it into a real head turner and a beast on the track so im looking for info on what is really involved in swaping to the gtx or gtr motor which i know the gtr is getting really hard to findComment

not to be a wankster or anything, but you have to swap the whole front clip, the whole engine harness, and the ecu. its a PITD(pain in the dick), especially if you havent ever done a major project like that before. you'd be better off finding another EGT and doing the swap that way. at least then its basically a bolt in project."Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy"

there's a lot of info about this on feoa.net if you already have an escort gt, it's a very simple swap, but with an lx, it's a pita. nobody ever really does the gtx swap into an lx, because unless you already have a ton of time and money invested in the lx, it's just not worth it. what most people will tell you is to just get rid of your lx and get a gt, or an protege lx and do the swap.sigpicComment
