    casting number

i ordered an escort GT transmission for my bpt swap and the throw out bearing that i ordered isn't fitting it. So im trying to figure out what the transmission is and the only number on the thing is the casting number so does anyone know what casting number would be found on an escort GT tranny?

GRM-25 i believe. Try to pop an axle stub in if you have a spare one...also if you have a clutch kit for a 1.8 Miata, the throw out bearing will NOT fit, to small.

IFRC there's 2-3mm in. diff between the "F" and the "G" trans input shafts and the spline count is different. G trans is bigger. Is the brg you ordered too big?

yeah the one i ordered is way too big and it was from an escort gt clutch kit. both the trannys have the same amount of splines and the bearing i pulled off of the "escort gt" transmission fits on both the trannys i have. the diameter of the input shaft on the new tranny is 1.14 in. and the inside diameter of the bearing from the clutch kit is 1.41 in.
