    MS users: Purge control

Hey all MS users. While I'm waiting for my MS2 to arrive, before I start redoing the harness, I need to know how you deal with the purge control solenoid, the one on the firewall? Can you make MS control it or is it unnecessary.

As well, not sure about the fuel pressure solenoid, do I really need to control it (I think it's only used at startup)? If not, where do I plug the FPR vacuum (As soon as it's running NA, it will get boosted)?

    Thanks for your help

The purge solenoid for the fuel tank/charcoal canister doesn't need to be and shouldn't be connected to MS. It has no provisions for controlling it.

The FPR solenoid increases fuel pressure on warm start. It is also not required, just plug the vacuum line straight into the FPR.

So how do I control the purge solenoid, just leave it unplugged? what happens with all the vapors from the tank?

Wouldn't boost create issues with the FPR? Instead of Vaccuum, the FPR will get boost.

purge control will be open all the time and if you have a check valve in there you won't boost your gas tank. The vapors will go through the charcoal canister without being drawn through

the fpr is a 1:1, so for every pound of boost your fuel pressure will go up by 1 psi. nothing to worry about.

But do you need the vapor line at all? Could you just leave it going in to the charcoal canister and not hook the return line up? The reason I am asking is because my line is in pretty rough shape and I am trying to decide if I have to replce it or just leave it.

Ok, thanks master LEX, hopefully I get it tomorrow or next week and can start building it.

my vapor system is not connected to the motor at all, just the charcoal can.
