Alright, I'm new to this site and I'm looking for some knowledgeable mx-3 owners. I've owned a 95 mx3 rs DOHC for 2 years now (130,000mi) and aside from the b&m shortshifter and air intake that was installed when I first bought it, I haven't done much to it until recently. Advanced the timing, I had a new exhaust system installed (2.5 straight pipe to 5 in muffler, it sounds sick) and I have an exedy stage 1 clutch. Couple weeks ago I got a VJ-11 turbo off a mx6 and now I need a turbo manifold off a b6t...323 gtx, familia....er a capri xr2 i think. And I figured that someone on this site would point me in the right direction. I'm having the head rebuilt next week, have a new fuel pump on order, 1.8 L mazda miata injectors and the safc. I was also wondering if I could use the miata cams? Help a sister out.

    Id find some bigger injectors.
If you can find a b6t in the yard grab those ones.

I am pretty sure that if you go over to 323gtx.net you can find a manifold and injectors. They could also let you know about the cams. You might also want to check out mx-3.com for info as well.

Miata cams won't work if you are planning to go B6T route. The 1.8L motor is longer than the 1.6L, unless you get them from the 1.6L Miata but I don't think that is an upgrade. If you really want to upgrade the cams with the turbo, get the cams from a 323gtx with the b6t in it.

I decided to go the BP route and built it for turbo. I was going to turbo the B6ZE like you but I think this is the better way to go. If you did a bp swap and buy a bpt turbo mani, your turbo would bolt right up and with a few other things, you would be up and running.

Just something for you to think about.

Welcome! Cool I got an mx-3 also! lucky you, got a 95 with a sunroof! lol PICS! PICS! You are a girl?! hahaha Get the 1.6 miata cams and go to mx-3.com for how to... It adds ~11hp on a n/a set up. That's according to mx-3.com people...For injectors grab a set of a turbo probe/mx-6, they say it's 350cc. Also if you want gtx cams I got them sitting in my garage, they will be up for sale soon

you can use miata cams! but i'd only suggest aftermarket cams and i see them on ebay all the time for a steal! so frustrating cause i upgraded to the bp and never see them for as cheap as the b6 cams are

as to injectors unless you are going for really high HP you could just do stock bp injectors i'm not sure how high the b6 ones will let you reach

i'm not sure on the gtx ecu i would assume if you swapped the wire harness you could do that of you could just get a greddy emanage i see them on the miata turbo forum a lot for cheap or there are other options let me know if you need some help and i'll try and show you good places to look for the parts you need

I think you would yeild better gains by doing the BP swap then upgrade to the GTX turbo, injectors and ecu.

From where I live I can get the BP engine for 400 dollars, then searching around for the GTX parts. Which are around for 1000 or less. Its just hard to watch people waste money on hacking stuff together when you can just do a BP swap then turbo it later. Then you will have a car that will smoke just about anything (within reason).

Just take what you have and ebay it, then look for a BP. Best upgrade you could do for cheap and yeild great gains. All my friends here call my car the go kart on crack.

on the auto circuit in chicago i was smoking cars with very few mods done to the engine yet... the b6 is a severly under rated engine... if it wasn't for the AWD swap i'm doing i wouldn't have done an engine swap myself i would have kept the b6

in fact the guy that usually won best time of day when i ran the windy city miata club races (mostly miatas but there were some cobras / corvetes / supras / even a nissan skyline on ocassion) was driving a turbo charged b6 engine

Another question...will my b6de tranny bolt up to a b6t engine??

if i were you i'd make the b6de into a b6t... if you use the b6t you'll have have trouble closing the hood due to the style of intake it has (i'm not sure if you can change intake manifolds) the trans should be swapable but i'd suggest taking the b6de build up the internals a bit then add a turbo mani to it

hey, im trying to help Score14 out by hooking her up with my 81,000 mile B6T from my 88 GTX, she could use either my stock or chippied ECU's but will she need another wiring harness or could she use her stock one? also are all the motor mounts the same between the her stock 1.6, and the B6T engines? we appreciate the help
