Dam looks like your gonna rebuild it the right way with forged internals and lots of other goodies. What kind of rods are those that you are going to use?

Where did you get the mounts? I know he isn't making them anymore. Were you part of the original groupbuy or did you pick them up from somebody that was?

Also, why buy bearings now when you don't know if you need oversize?

heres what i am planning to do, convert to RWD. it seems to me that where most people who try RWD conversions all stop at the same points, mounting a rear subframe/diff, driveshaft tunnel, saddle gas tank, exhaust routing. well i already have all this done since my car was stock 4WD. So today i took measurements off a friends 1.8l bp miata and this is what i came up with.

i already know and understand i will need a custom rear driveshaft, custom front subframe, cut back the firewall and floorpan to make room for trans and new solution for steering. so heres my solutions to those problems. hoist car up 3 feet put miata trans under car and start jacking it up wherever it hits i trim out till its where i need it and thats where i start making mounts for the trans. then i gotta fab up a subframe, miata front motor mounts bolt to subframe and then to the block where we have our jackshaft on intake side and support bracket for turbo/exhaust mani on exhaust side. this makes it easy to make a subframe that just craddles the engine between the 2 framerails.for steering i lose the firewall mounted rack, get a manual miata rack and move it twards the front of the car 12-13 inches and make a mount for it on the new subframe. then take off the steering knuckles, struts and reverse switch sides of the car, the arms for the tie rod ends will be facing forward and line up with the new steering rack position. calipers r now on the top, backside of the disc and lines are run around the back of the strut.

so how does everyone feel about me messing up a rare, perfect shell BFMR to make the only 1.8L bpt RWD GTX???

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

I will stick with a miata gearbox since it is basicly a RX-7 gearbox with a different bellhousing and proven to take 400hp without modification. i will also have the engine mounted closer to the rad support and keep it from being tucked into the firewall+the miata shifter will be in about the stock location just higher up

His 40% drivetrain loss is BS, in most every AWD car I've seen the loss is closer to 20%.
